After two grueling years of planning and construction, the result was a beautiful three-story structure full of distinctive features, inside and out. The tricky—but fun—part for Don was blending his contemporary style with the classic southern architecture of the city and the nature that surrounded the building. It was a defining accomplishment in Don’s life because it put all his diverse abilities to the test—vision, attention to detail, creativity and commitment. He was able to bring it all the right elements together and create something truly extraordinary. The experience also inspired Don to open Stonebrook Associates, which is both an interior design and project management firm. It allowed him to tap into all of his business skills and test his mettle as an entrepreneur. At the same time, Don also desired to take his love of real estate to the next level. Don and his family moved to Mobile in 1995 after having moved around a lot because of his career in the music industry.
